The Bosco Way

Putting the Method into Practice

The journey of forming joyfully resilient men is long, strenuous, and hazardous, but there IS a way: The Bosco Way. Bosco Ministries is putting into practice the Preventative Method of St. John Bosco through adventurous Catholic experiences.

"For the Love of Jesus Christ."

St. John Bosco did all things for the glory of God, and even referred to "the days when we accepted and put up with difficulties for the love of Jesus Christ" as "the happy days" with the boys in the Oratory. Building the practice of knowing, loving, and serving God through the course of our programs is of utmost importance and highest priority.

"Closeness Breeds Confidence."

In his Letter from Rome, Don Bosco revealed the details of several dreams he had. During which, he was shown how engaging the boys outside of teaching was necessary for their joy and the ability of the superiors to effectively form and instruct. A real human connection was necessary for the boys to have confidence they were loved by their superiors, and thus be receptive. Bosco Ministries programs are led by FSSP priests and seminarians to build this type of connection.

"Run, Jump, Shout, But Do Not Sin."

Don Bosco was known for his tricks and games, using good-natured fun and games to capture the attention of the boys he encountered on the street and those living in the Oratory. In doing so, he not only brought a smile to their face, but also built report with them by bringing levity into their often tense and troubled life. The boys at our camps get to experience the same joyful spirit through games, sports, and challenges.

"They still talk about the seminarians and priests, this many years later, as being strong influences. And we can tell that this made an impact on them as men, especially in the areas of remaining strong Catholics and purity." ~Parent of a Bosco Camper
